Avans Hogeschool has updated its entire website. Part of a larger marketing campaign, the website includes an advanced education finder, enabling future students to find information about possibilities for education.

Part of a larger marketing campaign, it includes an advanced education finder, enabling future students to find information about possibilities for education. The website is based on Hippo CMS 7.7 and is developed by HintTech and subsidiary Dayon.

In various research reports over several years, Avans have been a top-ranking educational institution in the Netherlands. The website, however, invariably ended in the lower reaches. With the new website Avans aims to make it into the top three. Using the advanced education finder, future students can find information by field of interest, type (bachelor, associate degree, master), location (Breda, 's Hertogenbosch, Tilburg), number of hours (full-time, part-time, dual) and language. The education information that can be found on the website, is retrieved from Hodex, an open standard to record and publish information on education, institutions and events. By using the principles of single source publishing the content can be maintained efficiently while ensuring data integrity.

Hippo CMS

At the heart of the website lies the latest version of Hippo CMS 7.7. This open source content management system offers greater flexibility and user-friendliness for maintaining the website. In addition, it enables the user to simply merge various sources of information and publish information through various channels, including the website, intranet, mobile and social media like twitter or Facebook. Tjeerd Brenninkmeijer, marketing director for Hippo: 'I can give nothing but compliments to the implementation partners for realising such a high-quality website in such a short time. Not only enables it Avans to distinguish themselves, but it is also a great showcase for Hippo CMS within the educational field.'

Satisfied

Following the Agile Scrum method, HintTech and Dayon have succeeded in delivering the website within three months. The success of the project was not only the result of combining the content and technological expertise of all three parties, but also by co-operating extensively with Avans's IT and marketing departments. Cyndra de Ruijter, head of communication with Avans Hogeschool: 'From the first moment, we have co-operated in an open and constructive manner. This has resulted in a fantastic site. The back-end gives us the flexibility to easily add and edit content. And the advanced search functionality as well as the new look and feel allows us to better serve current and future students.'
