Delft-based software developer HintTech goes to the US

18 December 2006 - Software developer HintTech recently opened an office in San Francisco. The Dutch company wants to expand its existing successful partnership with Tridion into the American market.

The office in San Francisco opened on 1 December and the developers are already working for a number of clients from the American Top 500. HintTech’s success in the Netherlands, its rapid turnover growth and the growing demand from clients led to this decision. “There is great demand for CMS in the US. Many of our developers are specialists in Tridion as well as .Net and Java, so that is why we decided to focus on these developments. It is a real growth market”, explains HintTech chief executive officer Egbert Hendriks.

The American market is different. Unlike the Netherlands, US clients do not use large system integrators but prefer small regional players. They also prefer to collaborate with American parties. “Tridion offers facilities which other major players do not, and that also provides opportunities for HintTech,” says Hendriks.

In the longer term the Delft-based company intends to expand its services to include information security and project management. “That’s how it went in the Netherlands, too”, Hendriks recalls. If demand suddenly booms, HintTech can call on a team of ‘flying keepers’. “These consultants fly literally all over the world to assist with projects here and there. In the longer term we are going to expand our team with local staff. We want to train these people ourselves and use them on projects. The local labour market should also benefit from that.”
