HintTech wins Province of North Holland contract

25 October 2007 - Since the government announced the ‘Modernising Government’ action plan at the end of 2003, it has been busy with a digital catch-up programme. That includes the province of South Holland, which initiated the ‘Digital Route’ programme in 2004. With this programme the province has significantly improved its ICT and information provision and its digital services. Encouraged by the proven success of the ‘Digital Route’ formula, the province of North Holland has also embarked on a digitisation programme.

Behind the screens, the province of North Holland is also working hard to ensure that it can offer digital services such as an electronic file and a digital counter to the public as soon as possible. Delft-based company HintTech is also contributing to this. Thanks to its good experiences with the province of South Holland, the ICT service provider decided to bid for the contract for the North Holland programme, and the outcome was successful.

HintTech has a great deal of knowledge and experience of complex digitisation projects, partly due to the work it has done for the programme in the province of South Holland”, says Egbert Hendriks, chief executive officer of HintTech. “Winning the contract in North Holland will give us the opportunity to employ our knowledge and experience there too, and so arrive at an excellent end result. Creating better services for the public is the main aim of all this.”

Improving the service between the provinces is one of the objectives. They need to be able to exchange information more easily so that matters can be dealt with more quickly. The internal processes within the provinces must also be made to run more efficiently and effectively by means of smarter ICT solutions. All with the goal of providing optimal service to the public.

The use of ICT services and solutions within government organisations is still far from being commonplace. Because of this, projects like the one in the province do not simply consist of implementing a new ICT service, but also involve a cultural change. This is where HintTech’s added value lies. The company is not only a specialist in software development, but also in project management. This means that it is able to think things through with the client from different perspectives, enabling an optimal result to be achieved.
