28 November 2007 - HintTech, the Delft-based service provider, has appointed a new chief operations officer for its office in the United States: Dean Klotz. Klotz was formerly employed by Move.com, the American version of Funda. HintTech has also moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles, because 80 percent of the market is now located there. These developments contribute to the company’s ambition to win more market share in the United States.
Klotz was vice-president of the development branch at Move.com, and collaborated in that capacity with HintTech on a Tridion project. The collaboration was such a good experience that HintTech appointed Klotz as managing director to continue growing the company in the United States. The Dutch mentality is not entirely the same as the American, so it is also good for business to appoint a local COO.
“We are in the middle of a period of strong growth in the US, we are becoming better known and hence we are also getting more and more work”, says Egbert Hendriks, chief executive officer of HintTech. “At the moment we are working on projects for major players such as Kaiser Permanente and AIG. Delivering good quality is a must for us, so the company’s growth cannot lag behind.”
HintTech currently has eight employees in the United States. This is expected to rise to ten by the end of the year, which is double the number in 2006. In five years’ time the company wants to employ between 40 and 50 people, depending on developments in the market.
HintTech has also become a full partner of Tridion in the United States, giving it access to more knowledge and resources for deploying Tridion in projects. Besides their expertise in Tridion and other CMS packages, the HintTech staff are also going to specialise in Search Engine Marketing (SEM). In addition, HintTech is currently talking to Mendix about the possibility of expanding their collaborative partnership further in the US.
HintTech is a specialist in the area of software development (.Net™, Java™ platform, Tridion), content management, project management and information security. The company was founded in 1997 and employs innovative and proven technologies and methodologies to develop high quality customised solutions for its clients. HintTech is both a consulting and an executive partner for Tridion, Microsoft, Sun J2EE™ and IBM WebSphere, and counts Shell, Nuon, Fortis and KLM among its clients.
