Malmberg chooses HintTech for .Net and Tridion deployment

15 December 2008 - Malmberg, one of the largest publishers of educational books and magazines, has closed a three-year contract with HintTech. The Delft-based IT Services firm will take care of the management and development of .Net and Tridion applications.

Malmberg publishes educational teaching materials for both continuing education and vocational training. Next to this the company has other publishing activities, which fall under Sanoma, a publisher of cross-media concepts, Okki, Taptoe and Bobo. In addition to printed media, the online channel is becoming more important for Malmberg. Its sites have become more interactive and e-learning is being integrated more often into its standard learning concepts.

Malmberg was looking for a strategic and experienced partner to make the next step for its online business model. “For the development of our online platform we looked for a partner who had a high-level of expertise in the area of Tridion and .Net developments and has proven expertise in similar projects. Our initial experience taught us that HintTech fulfills this promise. We don’t see junior people coming in who are training on our projects. HintTech people bring real experience to the table,” said Berry Verhoeven, CIO of Malmberg.

High service-level

Malmberg is able to handle its application needs in the area of education and publishing using Tridion technology. In addition, Tridion has been deployed for e-commerce purposes. Tridion specifically provides a good basic direction for essential Content Management System requirements. In consultation with employees in their own IT organization, a new architecture has been built in which Malmberg can have a short time-to-market for new online developments. HintTech is providing the management of these online applications. Malmberg required an extremely high level of service in the areas of functionality and performance. “With HintTech, the management of our online products is in reliable hands,” said Verhoeven.
