24 February 2009 - Due to the economic crisis, each day many more temporary and flex workers are laid off. A large number of these end up knocking on the doors of the different social security agencies, but a considerable number turn immediately to looking for a new job or side job. In order to succeed in this strongly competitive market, temp agencies need to make sure that employment seekers know how to easily find them. Because of this, SUSA Student Temp Agency gave IT-Services firm HintTech the task of redesigning their web environment.
The unemployment in the Netherlands seems to increase every day. This is also noticeable in the temp world confirms Sander Sonius, ICT Manager with SUSA Student Temp Agency: ‘A large number of those who are laid off, hope that the agency can quickly get them back to work, temporarily or not.’ He continues: ‘Consider the fact that these days the Internet is used in searching for a new job and it’s obvious why an easy to find and manageable website is important to us.’ A third reason why SUSA was in urgent need of a new website is, according to Sonius, the flexibility. ‘We wanted to be able to utilize our websites, www.susa.nl and www.susavoorbedrijven.nl, to adapt to whatever the current trends are and to be able to make special offers based on them.’
SUSA is well-known for its ‘pool’ concept where a flexible group of student labor is put in place to support the standard employees of the client. SUSA can therefore send more temp workers as soon as requested by the client. For this they draw on specified workers to compose the groups.
When choosing a partner to help complete its web project, SUSA was looking for a solid company who could offer support in the form of background knowledge and capacity. For SUSA a major consideration was that they would, ‘learn and not remain dependent.’ HintTech met these requirements. Sonius: ‘With HintTech, we immediately had a good feeling; the company is, in terms of size and type, comparable with SUSA itself, they bring senior people into the project and understand the risks.’
