HintTech sees its client centric approach and focus on quality rewarded with iSO 9001:2008 certification

04 December 2009 - HintTech, the Delft-based ICT service provider has received ISO 9001:2008 certification for the way in which it fulfills the expectations of its clients and customers. The positive assessment helps highlight HintTech’s company-wide focus on the delivery of quality.

Since its founding, HintTech has focused on software development  (.Net, Java and Tridion), project management, application management and information security. Recently, the company expanded its service portfolio to include testing and quality assurance, whereby it can further optimize its services rendered. HintTech see the ISO 9001:2008 certification as tangible evidence in regard to its consistent delivery of quality.

Increased competition and a dynamic market have led to a situation in which still higher demands and expectations are set when it comes to the quality and service offering and the software delivered.

The understanding of ‘quality’ is then more often translated as ‘the fulfillment of the customer’s wishes.’ This constant striving for quality requires a targeted use of company resources and management of company processes.

Patrick Dekker, director of HintTech, lays out the practicalities of how the company does this: “We have our own Development Center and above all a sizeable development team in Serbia. In this way we can be flexible in planning and capacity questions with our customers.”

According to Dekker the quality of the delivered product is, in important measure, decided by the way they have collaborated and communicated with the client: “Open and clear communication is indispensable in the planning and budget phase in order to keep the wishes of the client in focus and pre-empt unrealistic expectations from both parties. Also during the project we work together closely with the client.  We let the people who will use the application participate and build in structural control and evaluation mechanisms. This last process makes sure that the client has insight into the progress of the project at any moment.”

Having confidence in its own organization and boasting of high numbers of satisfied clients HintTech offers a time and price guarantee on its projects in the form of a reference card. The reference card is a standard manner in which to check if the targets that were laid out in the project plan are met within the agreed upon timeframe and within budget. Such a guarantee, like those in the construction world, is a novelty in that of IT. HintTech uses the benchmark during the whole run-time of a project if necessary, to steer the project in a timely manner and meet the quality standards of its service offering and of the delivered product.
