HintTech Development Center

The HintTech Development Centre (HDC) is at your disposal for made-to-measure software development, testing, and application management in the areas of SDL Tridion, ADAM, Java™ and Microsoft DotNet™. The HDC offers standardised development environments and a high-tech infrastructure for development. Development, testing and management take place in the HDC according to your quality norms and within your agreed budget. The HDC always has a core team of project leaders and experienced software developers available in Delft, San Francisco and Novi Sad.

Application Management

ASL offers not only a model, framework and terminology, but also best practices for practical application. Its aim is to ensure that the applications support the business processes optimally. ASL also has a maturity model: the maturity of the ASL processes can be assessed with a self-evaluation or scan. This enables the organisation to choose the right measures to continually improve the processes.

Not only can the applications developed by HDC be managed by the HDC. The HDC is set up to also manage your current Java, Microsoft DotNet™, web content management and digital asset management applications and systems. For management of applications, HintTech uses the ASL framework.

Application Service Library (ASL)

HintTech uses ASL, a framework specifically designed for application management. ASL works closely with ITIL, the method for infrastructure management and fits perfectly with BISL, the functional system management framework.

HintTech carries out processes such as incident management, change management and service level management with ASL. To meet your needs, ASL has three important principles:

  • The service team: a clear, central point of contact for the user organisation. The service team takes responsibility for the complete ICT service;
  • The service levels: allowing you to direct the service and giving you clear insight into the costs;
  • The ASL standardised processes: HintTech has a core team of project leaders and experienced software developers who know and follow the ASL processes. Following a generic process ensures clarity, efficiency and effectiveness.

Methods

As a department of HintTech, the same level of quality can be expected of the HDC as is delivered by the other HintTech departments. The HDC uses all the trusted methods practiced by HintTech, including Agile (Scrum/DSDM), RUP, Prince2, IPMA and TMap®. This enables the HDC to deploy the right specialists and methods according to the customer’s needs and the required solution. Also after the delivery of the project, we are a reliable source of information regarding all questions arising from using the software.
The HDC combines standard working methods based on RUP, Continuous Integration and Test Driven Development with the standard project management methods Prince2 and IPMA, supplemented by Best Practices in a standardised environment. This environment is characterised by the choices made in technology, process supporting tools, and infrastructure.

Virtual Project Office

The HDC is a “Virtual Project Office” where dedicated personnel, irrespective of time and place, work on client projects, whether in the office, at home or at the client premises. The power of the HDC lies in cooperation, clarity and in taking pleasure in the work. To guarantee efficiency and quality, the HDC uses innovative “collaboration tools” and Agile methods tailored to the technology.

Testing

All software development and software management activities within HDC are structurally tested. These structured tests are based on a number of core principles. One of the methods wherein these principles are present is TMap® (Test Management Approach). HDC uses TMap®, which is the most used international standard for testing.

TMap® Next contains various test techniques:

  • Black box: an acceptance test in the user acceptance test environment;
  • White box: a development test in the development environment;
  • Static test techniques
