Hippo CMS has been developed based on the principle that different external sources must be able to be merged into a single seamless whole. Hippo CMS therefore works with all current open standards itself and is used in situations where links with other data systems, tools and platforms are needed. A standard link is therefore available for many current sources (SAP, Exact, Plannon).
With a completely Java based open source architecture, integrations are core to Hippo CMS. The modular framework allows for utilizing the Hippo Content Repository as a singular repository, while allowing other applications to access this content as they need it. The Hippo suite contains filters to utilize frameworks such as Spring, JSP and Ruby – and of course integration with JCR is standard. Hippo also features out-of-the-box integrations with Microsoft Sharepoint, Documentum, Alfresco, Oracle Portal and other ECM solutions.
